Best wireless earbuds: what to look for before you buy

A buying checklist for wireless earbuds, with what eBay buyers actually paid. We do not stock this type, so the advice is not steering you to our own product.

Buy on the codec, the battery of the case and the fit, in that order. Spend more only when you need active noise cancelling or a link to two devices at once.

On 2026-11-02, eBay buyers paid a median of $47.99 for wireless earbuds (search "wireless earbuds"), across 47,000 sold listings. It is a market read, not a quote. Jump to the search shortcuts or read the 6 checks first.

What to look for: 6 checks

These are the points that separate a good wireless earbuds from a poor one, in the order they usually matter.

  1. Bluetooth version and codecsBluetooth 5.2 or newer connects faster and drops less. AAC is the codec iOS devices favour, aptX or LDAC suit many Android phones. SBC alone works but is the floor.
  2. Battery in the buds and in the caselook for 5 to 8 hours per charge and a case that adds at least two more charges. Ignore the biggest "total hours" figure, it counts the case.
  3. Fitsilicone tips in three sizes are the minimum. Wing tips or ear hooks matter if you run. A bad seal costs you bass more than any driver spec does.
  4. Water ratingIPX4 survives sweat, IPX7 survives a rinse. A bare "water resistant" with no IP number tells you nothing.
  5. Microphonefor calls, look for two or more microphones per bud with noise reduction. Earbuds that sound fine can still be miserable on a call.
  6. Charging portUSB-C is the one to want. Wireless case charging is a nice extra, not a reason to pay more.
The mistake to avoid
  • Earbuds priced far below the median often skip a low-latency mode, so video drifts out of sync with the sound. Check for a game or low-latency mode if you watch a lot of video.

On 2026-11-02, eBay buyers paid a median of $47.99 for wireless earbuds (search "wireless earbuds"), across 47,000 sold listings. That is real money changing hands on eBay, which makes it a useful anchor when you compare asking prices elsewhere.

How to read it: the count is the sold-result total eBay shows for a search of sold and completed listings, and the median is from the first page of prices (about 60 listings, new and used mixed). It is not an Amazon price, it ignores shipping and condition, and it does not say what a given product is worth. A different spec will sit well above or below it.

Not in our store yet

We do not stock wireless earbuds, and nothing we sell replaces it. The market-read card links to the page where you can ask us to source it; we add what people ask for. The other card is something we do sell from the same part of the store: the Desk mat.

Questions

Do I need active noise cancelling?

Only if you ride trains, fly or work in an open office. In a quiet home, a good seal does most of the work and you keep the extra money.

How long should earbud batteries last?

Five to eight hours per charge is normal for the buds, with the case adding two to four more full charges. Batteries lose capacity over a couple of years, so a spec on day one is a ceiling.

What do wireless earbuds sell for on eBay?

On 2026-11-02, eBay buyers paid a median of $47.99 for wireless earbuds (search "wireless earbuds"), across 47,000 sold listings. The median comes from the first page of prices, about 60 listings, new and used mixed. It is a screen, not a forecast, and not a price you will necessarily pay elsewhere.

Does Nuva Supply sell wireless earbuds?

Not yet. You can ask us to stock wireless earbuds on the item page and we email you once if we do.

Are the Amazon links paid?

Yes. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. The links open an Amazon search, not a particular listing, and cost you nothing extra. We have not tested any product, and we show no Amazon prices because we cannot check them.

Nuva Supply does not sell wireless earbuds, so this page carries no commercial interest in the product itself. We do earn a commission on qualifying Amazon purchases made through the search links, and the link labels say so. Nothing here is independent testing. Market figures are eBay sold-listing medians with the read date.
