What this check means

Photos are most of what a buyer has to go on. We need at least two clean images of the product: no banners, logos, overlaid text or size infographics. Supplier galleries are often a single render plus marketing graphics, and a product we cannot show honestly is a product we do not list.

Counts from our review records as of 2026-11-07. Full criteria: the method page.

How you can check this on any listing

  • Count the photos that show the actual product with nothing drawn over it.
  • Be careful when every image has text or arrows on it: the listing may have no plain photograph at all.
  • A single angle repeated is one photo, not several.
  • If the photos look rendered or from a different brand, the product may not match the description.

Questions

How many listings did you turn down because of not enough clean photos?

110 of 924 rejections (12%) were turned down mainly for this reason, out of 1,212 supplier listings reviewed. A listing that fails more than one check is counted once, under its main reason.

Does this mean those suppliers or categories are bad?

No. We chose which listings to review from our own searches, so the counts show our filter at work. They are not a rating of any supplier, seller or category.

How can I run this check myself?

Count the photos that show the actual product with nothing drawn over it. Be careful when every image has text or arrows on it: the listing may have no plain photograph at all. A single angle repeated is one photo, not several. If the photos look rendered or from a different brand, the product may not match the description.
