What this check means

We only describe a product with what the supplier actually states. When the title says one thing and the text another, or the listing gives no material, size or capacity, we cannot write an honest page, so we do not list it. A material word such as leather, stainless or waterproof appears on our pages only if the supplier states it.

Counts from our review records as of 2026-11-07. Full criteria: the method page.

How you can check this on any listing

  • Read the title and the description side by side. If they describe different things, treat the listing with caution.
  • Missing size, material or capacity is a warning sign, not a detail to guess.
  • Copy-pasted text from another product is a sign the seller has not checked what is being sold.
  • Treat claim words (waterproof, leather, stainless) as unproven unless the spec states them.

Questions

How many listings did you turn down because of thin or contradictory spec?

72 of 924 rejections (8%) were turned down mainly for this reason, out of 1,212 supplier listings reviewed. A listing that fails more than one check is counted once, under its main reason.

Does this mean those suppliers or categories are bad?

No. We chose which listings to review from our own searches, so the counts show our filter at work. They are not a rating of any supplier, seller or category.

How can I run this check myself?

Read the title and the description side by side. If they describe different things, treat the listing with caution. Missing size, material or capacity is a warning sign, not a detail to guess. Copy-pasted text from another product is a sign the seller has not checked what is being sold. Treat claim words (waterproof, leather, stainless) as unproven unless the spec states them.
